Laura has served as Senior Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel for a major public research university, managing the university’s legal affairs along with providing advice and counsel on the full range of complex, sophisticated organizational issues.
Laura previously served as a trial attorney with both the Phoenix and Chicago District Offices of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, where she litigated individual and class discrimination suits. She also practiced in the private sector, litigating employment discrimination cases in federal and state courts.
Laura was elected Board Chair of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) after serving as a Board Member for NACUA. She served on the general counsels committee for the Association of American Universities, served as Chair of the Arizona State Bar Employment and Labor Law Section, and is a member of the Community Advisory Board for Arizona Public Media.
